ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVE BEIJING (D)
On arrival, transfer to the centrally located 4 star Novotel Peace Hotel, for your three-night stay.

DAY 2: BEIJING (B/L/D)
Morning tour of world famous Tiananmen Square and the splendours of the Forbidden City. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, the former summer resort of past Chinese Emperors. This evening you will be entertained by an exciting Chinese Acrobatic Show.

DAY 3: BEIJING (B/L/D)
In the morning, travel out to China’s most famous icon, the Great Wall at Badaling. After lunch, visit the Ming Dynasty Tombs and a cloisonné factory. HIGHLIGHTS This tour provides you with the opportunity to experience the historical and cultural diversity of China two most exciting cities. Walk in the footsteps of past Emperors in the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and on the Great Wall in Beijing, before visiting Shanghai where you will experience the art-deco glory of the Bund, the spectacular skyscrapers of the new city area of Pudong and the exciting Nanjing Road shopping precinct. For dinner, enjoy the world famous local speciality, Peking Duck, at one of Beijing’s top restaurants.

DAY 4: BEIJING - SHANGHAI (B)
This morning, tour the Temple of Heaven – one of China’s most beautiful architectural treasures. Rest of day free, until you transfer to Beijing Airport to board your direct flight to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to the centrally located 4 star Sofitel Hyland Hotel, for your three night stay

DAY 5: SHANGHAI (B/L/D)
This morning’s sightseeing includes visits to the historic Bund (one of the world’s best preserved examples of Art-Deco architecture, located adjacent to the Huangpu River), the famous Nanjing Road Shopping District and the Yu Gardens. After dinner travel up to the viewing platform of the Oriental Pearl Tower (third highest tower in the world), for spectacular views of the city by night.

DAY 6: SHANGHAI - XITANG - SHANGHAI (B/L/D)
Morning drive through the countryside to the ancient Xitang Water Village, with its traditional houses and arched stone bridges crossing over small canals. Return to Shanghai late in the evening.

DAY 7: DEPART SHANGHAI (B)
Morning transfer to Shanghai Airport for your onward journey.
